FOSTER SEALFAST QT has red rubber sealing ring still on it & wire bail; Base: FOSTER 6 C; bubbles in clear glass, no defects. Research: AM Foster Company 1908 to 1925 in Chicago, Ill.. LID MARKED: Formerly GELFAND.
Reference "http://www.qnet.com/~glassman/info/jarfaq.htm".  Foster Sealfast jars were made from 1908 to 1925 by different glass companies for the AM Foster Co. of Chicago, Illinois. Many of the Foster jars were probably made in Indiana as the concern purchased a glass plant there in 1911. Otherwise, they paid other glass companies to make jars for them. There is another jar that just says "Sealfast" on it that also belongs to this family of jars. Also a "Trademark Sealfast". All of these jars should have "Foster" embossed on the base.
